William E. "Bill" Stokes age 69 of Menno, SD passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Menno, SD with Rev. David Ellis officiating. Burial of Bill's urn will be in the Menno Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Aisenbrey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Menno is in care of the arrangements. William Edward Stokes born June 11, 1945 in Gordon, Nebraska to Opal Vivian Bettelyoun Stokes and Hermit Elwood Stokes. I was proceeded in death by my mother and father. I am survived by my wife Sandra Lee, and sons James Edward and wife Ungsana of Rapid City, South Dakota, Kurtis Arthur and wife Gail of Westminster, Colorado, and Johann Charles and wife Rachel of Menno, South Dakota, three grandsons and three granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters. I grew up in Igloo and Edgemont, South Dakota. Graduated from Provo High School in 1964. Married Sandra Lee Himmerich on April 24, 1966. I was a railroad conductor for Burlington-Northern for 31 years and 3 months. I retired in 2005 and moved to Menno, South Dakota.
