Floyd C. Weisz, age 90 of Yankton, SD passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Wakonda Heritage Manor (Avera), Wakonda, SD from complications from pneumonia. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Yankton, SD with Rv. Steve Weispfennig officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be in the Gracehill Cemetery, Tripp, SD at a later date. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, SD is assisting with the service details. Honorary urn bearers are Myron Faller, Mark Pederson, Eric Faller, Terry Pederson, Brian Herrboldt and Arnold Rokusek. Floyd C. Weisz was born on March 31, 1925 to Andrew and Hilda (Schelske) Weisz. On June 25, 1948, at the age of 22, he married Edith Munkvold of Menno, SD. During his lifetime, they lived in the Black Hills where he worked at several different occupations, the forest service, at a sawmill, a mica mine and also a missile silo. In the early 1960's they moved to the family farm at Kaylor, SD where they milked cows and farmed. In 1988, they moved to Yankton, SD where Floyd enjoyed fishing, mechanic work and tinkering in his garage. Floyd is survived by his daughters, Lois (Larry) Faller of Clarkfield, MN and Deborah (Donald) Pederson of Viborg, SD; four grandsons: Myron (Stephanie) Faller and family, Eric (Christine) Faller, all of Clarkfield, MN, Mark (Jeannie Lawler) Pederson and family, all of Sioux City, IA and Terry (Carrie) Pederson and family, all of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Metha (Eugene) Wright of Kaylor, SD; several brothers and sisters-in-law and cousins. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; son, Randall; granddaughter, Angela; his parents and in-laws.
