Anna Katherina Redman, age 98 of Menno, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Menno-Olivet Care Center, Menno. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, Menno with Rev. Theresa Jacobson officiating. Burial will be in the Menno Cemetery. Visitations will be from 7-9 PM, Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Aisenbrey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Menno, SD. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Anna Katherina Zeeb was born January 25, 1915, on a farm nine and one-half miles southeast of Freeman, South Dakota, to Henry and Martha (Knodel) Zeeb. She was baptized on April 15 of the same year in Bethlehem Reformed Church at Freeman, SD. When Anna was three, the family moved to a farm five and one-half miles southwest of Menno where she grew up. She was the oldest of five children. She attended Eastview School where she graduated from eighth grade. When she was 14, she was confirmed in Salem Reformed Church in Menno by Rev. John Bodenman. On September 14, 1937, she and Herman Redman were married. They lived on the Redman farm 11 miles southeast of Menno for 52 years. After the death of Herman in 1989, she moved into Menno where she lived until her death. Her last years were spent in the Menno-Olivet Care Center. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters: Karen Rames and husband, Robert of Hickory Hills, IL and Renee Huenemann and husband, Mark of Surprise, AZ; four grandchildren: Kristine (Glenn) Jones of Naperville, IL, Katherine (Corey) Herrboldt of Bolingbrook, IL, Tim (Kathi) Huenemann of Maple Grove, MN, and Matt (Julie) Huenemann of Racine, WI; six great-grandchildren: Bradley and Erica Jones, Brooke and Bailey Herrboldt, and Grace and William Huenemann; three sisters-in-law: Irene Zeeb, Evelyn Zeeb, and Erna Zeeb; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Morna Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; parents, Henry and Martha Zeeb, sister, Ardina Mettler and husband, Roland; brothers: Peter, Harold, and Ray Zeeb; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Oliver and Anna M. Redman. Until recent years when her health did not allow, she enjoyed visiting, reading, needlework, and helping others. She was a contented person and gratefully and gracefully accepted all of life's stages.
