Alberta M. Barnes, age 89, of Yankton, and formerly of Bloomfield, NE passed away early Friday morning, November 1, 2013 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, November 4, 2013 at t. Mark's Lutheran Church, Bloomfield, NE with Rev. Tim Koester officiating. Burial will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, NE. Visitations will be from 5 to 7 PM, Sunday, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, and then one hour prior to the service at the church. Alberta was born June 2, 1924 in Bloomfield, NE to John & Anna (Schmoldt) Jensen. She married Harold Wayne Barnes on September 26, 1946 in Lindy, NE. To this union, a son, Dennis, was born. She was a lifetime member of St. Marks Church in Bloomfield, NE. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Joyce) Barnes of Yankton, SD; grandson, Stacy (Kristi) Barnes of Yankton, SD; granddaughters: Lisa (John) Mahnke of Yankton, SD, Tara Paulson of Crofton, NE, and Amanda Barnes of Yankton, SD; great-grandchildren: Alexa Schieffer, Megan Barnes, Lacey Barnes, Dillon Mahnke, Preston Paulson, Peyton Paulson, Parker Paulson, Pierce Paulson, and Tyler Barnes; and brother, Alfred (Anna) Jensen.
