Thera was born October 30th, 1980, in Tampa, Florida to Doug and Cheryl Ahrens. Thera and Cheryl moved to Yankton in April of 1993 to be closer to family. She graduated from Yankton High School in 1999. Thera went on to pursue her genuine passion and talent for cosmetology by attending and graduating from the Iowa Beauty School in 2003. Thera's artistic flair extended beyond cosmetology to fashion and poetry, and it is a quality that she has fostered and encouraged in her children as well. She was a person with a big heart and a big laugh that she loved to share with friends. Thera was a brave and courageous soul who would do anything for others. She had a gift of being able to make anybody laugh with her smart and witty comments. We will always remember Thera for her undying love for the color lime green, big laugh, and the way her eyes would sparkle when she smiled. Thera was a wonderful and proud mother to three amazing children, Dharian, Landyn, and Jackson. They were her world and she loved them with all her heart. Thera had a special, unexplainable bond with her mother Cheri, and a deep pride and honor for her brother Brian. The love she had for her family, and close friends, will never be forgotten. She will be unendingly missed by all.
Thera is survived by her daughter Dharian age 13 (Travis and (Rachel) Guenther) and two sons Landyn age 10 and Jackson age 9 (Chris Sherman), parents Doug (Kim) Ahrens and Cheri Rezac-Ahrens, brother Brian Ahrens, and paternal grandparents Carlyle and Joan Ahrens. She was also loved by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
Thera is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Robert and Phyllis Rezac and Aunt Bridget Ahrens-Lee.
