Marc Edward Branaugh age 58, of Yankton, SD passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD. No formal services will be held locally. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, is assisting with service details.
Marc was born June 13, 1956 in Yankton, SD to James Edward Branaugh and Joan Maxine (Pigsley) Branaugh (both preceded him in death). He was also preceded in death by two infant brothers.
He enlisted in U.S. Army in 1974 (completed basic training at Ft. Leonardwood, MO) and graduated Lawton High School in the same year while stationed with the 226th Maintenance Company at Ft. Sill, OK. During the 15 year span of Marc's military career, he was awarded the National Defense Medal and Meritorious Service Medal (three times).
Marc married Judy A. (Henry) Branaugh in 1976. Judy Branaugh was from Reading, PA and presently lives in Copperas Cove, TX.
He returned to Yankton, SD in 2003 to care for his aging father and step-mother. Marc was a parishioner of Christ Church Episcopal Church of Yankton, SD.
His hobbies included bowling, volleyball, horseshoes, car repair and home improvement. He most recently worked at Buhl's of Yankton.
He is survived by Judy Branaugh and their (2) children born into the marriage of 15 years, and 3 grandchildren: his daughter, Ann E. Branaugh-Phipps (Mother of Marc's 3 grandchildren: Heidi Ann Phipps (6 years), Robert Lee Phipps (5 years) and William Michael Phipps (3 years) - all of Copperas Cove, TX; his son, Andy Lee Branaugh of Copperas Cove, TX.
He is also survived by three siblings: Greg Branaugh of Sioux Falls, Robin (Branaugh) Tischler of Sioux Falls, and Jeff Branaugh of Yankton, SD and many nieces and nephews.
