Ruth Ann (McDowell) Breeding was born on October 9, 1945, to Clarence and Grace Marie (Gergenson) McDowell in Olean, New York. Clarence and Marie’s family consisted of six boys and two girls. Ruth was baptized in Christ in 1957.
Ruth married Kim-on-Low in 1966. To this union came two stepchildren, and one daughter, named Tammy. Ruth’s second husband was Ralph Breeding. They were married in Reno, NV, on September 03, 1987, and enjoyed 30 years of marriage together.
When Ruth and Ralph lived in Olivet, they enjoyed having the love of their pet dogs. Ruth also enjoyed cooking and baking. Ruth spent 14 years in the Menno-Olivet Care Center. The staff and residents soon became her extended family, as she made many good friends there throughout the years. Ruth enjoyed putting puzzles together and painting quilt blocks at the care center. She blessed many people with her beautiful puzzles! Ruth enjoyed reading books, playing the weekly Bingo games, and coming out for music and activities at the care center.
Ruth’s faith in Christ was genuine and was evident by her constant care and concern for her roommates during her years at the care center.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Tammy Low, Jacksonville, FL, and by her stepdaughter Terry. She is also survived by her three brothers, David, Wayne, and Gail McDowell; and by her half-sister, Rachael.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Bill, Richard, and Eugene McDowell; by her sister, Twila McDowell; and by her stepson, Ricky Low.
