Barb, I know this is late but I didn't know this was here.
Barb, I always had so much respect and love for you. I always will when I think about you.
You were such a huge part of my son's and my life for sure. I have 7 years of child care memories, as well as the wonderful friendship. I remember spending a whole lot of time at your house after I got off work, and even on my days off. You were the nicest lady, so easy going and fun to be around. We had a lot of fun, playing card games, keno at Triple Time Rudy's, hanging out on the porch, putting up the wire fence I got from somewhere, all the meals, my sons first need stitches cut he got playing football in the yard when you gals were putting up new gutters and I got to get off work at Alumax cuz you were right there at the hospital with him. (I don't think he ever played football again lol.) and the zoo when you were lost but didn't even know we were looking for you. You said you were looking at the giraffes (I think), the concerts, the fairs, road trips to Sioux Falls, the visits back and forth after my son and I moved to Florida. Those are all priceless memories locked in my heart and mind forever.
My son and I are so very blessed to have had you in our lives.
I still miss you everyday. It's as if I lost my sister or someone so vital to my life and my heart is so sad. I will be kicking myself forever because I didn't come up to see you and say goodbye to you, and let you know how I and "Michael J" will always love you and treasure the tons of memories I have from all the years with you and your family, friends and the parents and kids. You, Steph and Courtney coming to Florida was so wonderful, as well as my visits back to Yankton. Just so, so many great memories. Even the little things like your chuckle, (which was your laugh) the way you talked, you pretty much always had a smile on your face, (except when disciplining, but the smile always returned quickly ly) quite often you had a twinkle in your eyes, whistling when you cooked, even remember the dog Sahara got on your nerves lol. Oh and the bug zapper, the first one I ever saw or heard of. I was like its a what?! You were so nonchalant about it, oh it zaps bugs and they die lol, like it was an every day thing to you. I used to stare at that thing. That thing was wild, zapping those bugs. There are just so many little memories and I will treasure them for the rest of my lifetime.
I wish you could hear me in heaven Barb.
Thank you for your friendship over the span of 25 years. You were a really great friend, a very special lady with the biggest heart I've ever known anyone to have had. There will never be another person like you in my life, which is sad because earth could use a trillion "Barbs" on it. But I know the Lord only meant for my life to have the one and only "Barb" in it.
You are so missed.
To your family, lots of love and hugs. I think of all of you very fondly. It's hard to picture all of you without Barb. I know you will find the strength through the Lord.
With love, Kathy and "Michael J"
