Clarence Thomas (Mahpiya Wicasta) was born in Sioux City, IA on March 10, 1956 to Raymond and Dorothy (Dudley) Thomas, Jr. Clarence attended Irving Elementary and Woodrow Wilson Jr. High, both in Sioux City, IA and Burlington Community College in Burlington, IA. He was employed at Strange Brothers in Sioux City, IA, Ohiya Casino and was a Wild Land Firefighter where he retired. He also worked in construction, built HUD Homes and grain bins. He was a member of the Sacred Horse Society and participated in Wounded Knee. Clarence met Minerva Valenzuela in August 2011 and resided in Springfield, SD and had one child, Wanbdi Ob Mani Po Thomas. Clarence is survived by his children: Angela Denney, Shannon Thomas, Michelle Denney, Deza Rae Thomas and Wanbdi Ob Mani Po Thomas; uncle, Leonard Thomas; sisters, Elaine (Norman) Provost, Phyllis Thomas and Barbara Macias; brothers: Terry Thomas, Harold Thomas and Charles Thomas; foster children: Thomas Macias, Adriana Macias, Maria Macias, Casey Freiburghouse, Rudy Johnson, Kassandra Johnson and Kiarra Johnson and special friend, Gertrude Gee. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond, Jr. and Dorothy Thomas; grandparents, Raymond, Sr. and Flora Thomas and sisters, Mary Ann Thomas and Janice Harriet Reynold.
