HERRBOLDT CHAD
Chad Lee Herrboldt, age 51, of Tripp, SD passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 2, 2019.
Chad Lee Herrboldt was born on August 1, 1967 to Terry and Shirley (Novak) Herrboldt in Parkston, SD. Following his graduation from Menno High School in 1985, he attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA. Chad loved working with livestock. His dad recalls, even as a child, Chad preferred working with anything that had four legs as opposed to four wheels. He worked jobs that involved tending to and doctoring cattle. He spent the last several years riding pens in feedlots and working at vet clinics.
Chad loved horses, but had a special passion for Palomino’s that started with his favorite horse, Smooch. Through the years, Chad and Smooch competed in rodeos and achieved six World Championships and ten Reserve World Championships in the World Championship Palomino Show. He competed several years in the SDRA. He has won numerous buckles and trophies.
Chad is survived, remembered, and loved by his parents, Terry and Diane (Hall) Herrboldt of Tripp, South Dakota; siblings: Samantha Herrboldt of Tyndall, SD, Fabre (Pat) Sullivan of Sioux Falls, SD, Jacob Herrboldt of Tripp, SD, Brigette Dangel of Sioux Falls, SD, Sean (Darcy) Barrett of Scotland, SD, Shelly (Jason) Konstanz of Scotland, SD, Matthew Barrett of Scotland, SD and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friend, Jason Kriz of Sisseton, SD.
Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley (Novak) Bauder; sister, Candi Sayler; brother, Cory Herrboldt; grandparents, Ewald and Francis Herrboldt and Milo and Signe Novak.
