Jada and Ed, my deepest sympathy goes out to you both. Your mom was such a great gal. I'm glad I got to meet her with you that day Jada. I pray Gods grace helps you through the days to come. May he bring you comfort.

My Aunt Johnnie was a gentle, gracious, loving lady. Many years ago when my brother Gary and I visited my grand parents she would take us fishing in the farm pond, and playing in a shallow pool of water warmed by the sun after a heavy Kentucky rain. At night before going to bed she would tell us stories, or act out a funny skit to entertain us.
During the past 2 years when visiting her we had quality time discussing how the Lord had healed her as a child and given her the ability to play the piano. She loved The Lord & her family dearly, and showed her love for people by
playing for them. I once asked her if she played by ear, and she said, "No I play by heart". She surely did and played hymns, Stephen Foster, and many patriotic songs to Bless all who heard. She loved her church, Yankton Baptist,
which was evident when I attended with her during my visits the past 2 years.
She will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She truly, Bloomed Where She Was Planted, sharing her talents and her faith in her Lord with those around her. Blessed to be her Nephew!

I had the pleasure of knowing Johnnie while volunteering first at Yankton Care and when they moved to Sister James. Johnnie always greeted me with a smile. Johnnie also was always willing to entertain us with her piano playing.
I will miss seeing her at Bingo, the Country Store and other activities.

I met Miss Johnnie one of the first times i attended Yankton Baptist. She was a true southern lady, quiet in demeanor but oh so loving in her giving. I then found out I was working with her son and that made it even more special. She truly loved her family and her Lord. When we were cleaning the church office we had found her autoharp and she wanted us to keep it for someone to play it but no one knew how. I heard of so many times of when Miss Johnnie was playing the piano at Sister James. She brought a lot of joy to people. My thoughts are with you Jada and Edward as you go through this time.
