Obituary of Roland L. Kaldun

Roland was born June 9, 1939 in Delmont, SD to Samuel and Clara (Herr) Kaldun. He was baptized on September 9, 1939 and confirmed on April 11, 1954. Roland married Judy Uherka on April 25, 1963 at Presbyterian Church in Wagner, SD. He joined the Army in 1963, received his GED and was Honorably Discharged in 1966. Roland and Judy moved to a farm near Meckling, SD in 1966 where Roland farmed for many years. In 1984, they moved from the farm to Yankton. Roland quit farming in 1987 to work at the Yankton County Highway Department, where he worked until his retirement in 2004. He always remained a farmer at heart by tending his lawn and garden through the years.
Roland enjoyed motorcycling, collecting toy tractors, spending time with his grandkids and camping trips with friends and family.
Roland is survived by his wife, Judy of Yankton, SD; daughter, Wendy (Eric) White of Sioux Falls, SD; 5 grandchildren: Megan Eisenbeis, Ethan White, Zoey White, Kiera White and Jaxon White
and brother, Kenneth (Cindy) Kaldun of Alexandria, SD.
Roland was preceded in death by 3 children: Michael, Peggy & Amy; parents, Sam and Clara Kaldun; sister, Shirley Bouska; brother, Marvin Kaldun and in-laws, William and Frances Uherka.
