Obituary of Velda Holzwarth
Velda Holzwarth was born on November 4, 1928 to Ludwig and Emma (Stoebner) Huether in Tripp, SD. Velda was baptized and confirmed at Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp, SD. On June 2, 1950, Velda married Gideon Holzwarth of Freeman, SD. From this union, they were blessed with three children: Marlin, Myron and Marlene. They lived their married life farming together west of Freeman. Velda was known for her cooking and baking talents, always filling the table with an abundance of food for friends and family. She loved her flowers and spent many hours in her garden. Velda enjoyed going on bus tours with Gideon and especially enjoyed their tour through Europe. Velda always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Velda is survived by her children: Marlin (Patty) Holzwarth of Freeman, SD, Myron (Audrey) Holzwarth of Harrisburg, SD and Marlene (Brad) Stewart of Alliance, NE; four grandchildren: Matt Holzwarth of Sioux Falls, SD, Kevin (Ashley) Holzwarth of Freeman, SD, Jamie (Tyler) Sanders of Sidney, NE and Sean Stewart of Ft. Collins, CO; five great-grandchildren: Paisley and Brantley Holzwarth and Benjamin, Joshua and Anna Sanders; four stepchildren to Myron: Ronnie Jaye Munce Jr., Tash Munce, Sheena (Jim) Drey, Ryon Munce and families; two brothers: Melvin (Ardina) Huether and Roger (Karen) Huether, all of Tripp, SD; two sisters: Bernice Schoenfish of Menno, SD and Frances Vogel of Sioux Falls, SD; plus many nephews and nieces.
Velda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin brothers, Mynard Huether and Maynard Huether; brothers-in-law, Art Schoenfish and Rudy Vogel and nieces, Teresa Huether and Carol Prien.
