Obituary of Thomas Jefferson Hennessey Hausman
TJ was the youngest son of Gerald and Dixie (Hennessey) Hausman, born October 5th, 1988, in Yankton, SD. The first part of his youth was spent growing up on the family mink ranch. Later, when his family moved into town during his middle school years, his first job was as a delivery boy for the Shopper. After Lincoln Elementary and the Yankton secondary system, he went on to study at USD, where he pursued interests in history and creative writing. While there, he also began an internship with the Boys & Girls club that turned into a job he enjoyed long after his formal schooling ended. Eventually, he followed his inclinations, as well as two of his brothers, and went to work at Baldwin Filters, where he earned the position of Set-Up some months before his passing.
In tune with the culture of his generation, TJ was an avid gamer and comic/movie aficionado, being particularly proud of his Transformer figure and Pokeman card collections. In tune with his family, he was an amateur historian and poet. But in his own heart of hearts, he was always his mother’s son.
TJ is survived by his father Gerald Hausman; brothers: John (Mia), Max, Rex (Diana) and Ben Hausman; sister, Dawn (Terry) Williams; nephew, Christopher Arbock and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie Lee (Hennessey) Hausman; grandparents, Lloyd & Lucy Hausman and Paul and Coleen Hennessey; aunt, Connie Marken and nephew, Arick Strauser.
TJ will be buried with his mother and her father at Chance, SD, at a later date.
