Obituary of Darline I. Wiedmeier
Darline was born July 8, 1928, in Viborg South Dakota. She was the daughter of Axel and Christine (Nelsen) Christensen. She attended rural school and High School at Viborg. Her ambitions in High School were band along with other school activities. She enjoyed her years on the farm, raising four children, gardening, cooking crocheting and sewing. She had a successful career over 25 years at the Human Services Center in Yankton as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technician where she was recognized for her outstanding service and compassion.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran church in Menno, since 1968. Upon retirement she enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Darline married Delmer Wiedmeier January 11, 1948 at Spring Valley Lutheran Church in Viborg South Dakota. Together they had four children, a daughter Connie and three sons, Rodney, Lonny and Todd.
Survivors include granddaughters: Robyn (Wallace) Fisk, Sunny (Patrick) Adams, Jennifer Bentley, Tera (Lance) Peterson and Carly (Adam) King; grandsons: Patrick (Tammy) Roberson, Heath (Tammy) Wiedmeier, Jeremiah (Dawn) Roberson, William (Linzy) Bentley, Matthew Wiedmeier, Dane Wiedmeier and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Christine; brothers, Virgil and Harley; sister, Margie and husband, Delmer.
