Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren, Seth & Ashley Schurman, Matt Gunderson & Jennifer Everson, Brett & Kevin Schurman, Christopher, Brandon & Amber Schurman, Rylee Schurman, Cody Sage, Brittany Sage, Tori Sage and six great grandchildren.
Cleopha was born January 5, 1930 to William and Josephine (Schmidt) Schroeder at Crofton, NE. She attended St. Boniface School through the 8th grade. On November 21, 1950 she married Wilfred Schurman at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee. They lived at Hartington for 1½ years before moving to the farm at Crofton where she lived until the time of her death.
Cleopha loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many hours gardening and quilting and in recent years she enjoyed spending time with her Menominee Widows luncheon group. She kept busy doing crossword puzzles, word searches and coloring. Cleopha was a strong woman of faith, a member of the Christian Mothers, and prayed the rosary daily.
Survivors include her ten children, Ken(Terri) Schurman of Crofton, Ne, Patty (Jim) Gunderson of Mission Hill, SD, Dan Schurman of Yankton, SD, Mike (Julie) Schurman of Yankton, SD, Duane Schurman of Yankton, SD, John (Jamee) Schurman of Lincoln, NE, Jean Schurman of Norfolk, NE, Tom Schurman of Great Falls, MT, Dennis Schurman of Battle Creek NE, and David Schurman of Crofton, NE thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers Emil Schroeder of Great Falls, MT, William (Valerie) Schroeder of Sioux Falls, SD and two sisters, Lee Walz of Sacramento, CA, and Mary Ann Dankert of Omaha, Ne.
Cleopha was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred of 63 years, her parents William & Josephine Schroeder, brothers Roman and Mike Schroeder and sister Lorraine Tramp.
