Obituary of Roberta Ellen Warren
WARREN ROBERTA
Roberta Warren, 86 of Yankton, passed away peacefully July 1, 2017 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2:0 PM, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, SD with Pastor Jeremy Mulder and Pastor Bob Mason officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery, Yankton, SD. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. On line condolences may be sent at: www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.
Roberta Ellen Orcutt was born September 3, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Robert and Ida Orcutt. She grew up in Minneapolis, graduating high school from Minnehaha Academy. Roberta united in marriage with Bruce Warren September 29, 1956 in Minneapolis, a union lasting more than 60 years. In 1961, they re-located to Yankton where they owned and operated the Nancy Nursing Home which later became the Riverview Care Center. After selling the business in 1984, Roberta finished her working career as secretary/bookkeeper at the Yankton Care Center.
Roberta was a woman of strong faith who, throughout her life, was involved in many church activities, and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She always enjoyed her many trips back to Minneapolis visiting family and old acquaintances, and loved having coffee with her many friends. Roberta was a member of Calvary Baptist and Emmanuel Churches for many years and recently attended Redeeming Grace Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce; two children, Dan Warren and Pam Warren; three grandchildren: Owen Warren (Sylvia Crowe) CJ Warren (Roberta Swensen) and Amanda Swensen (Dakota LaPointe), all from Yankton, SD; her sister, Betty Crownover from Eden Prairie, MN; her sister-in-law, Kay Bortnem of Minneapolis, five great-grandchildren and five nephews.
Preceding Roberta in death were her parents.
