Obituary of Teddy Herrlein

HERRLEIN TEDDY

Teddy Herrlein, age 62 of Yankton, SD passed away from cardiac arrest on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.   Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to meet at the Mayfield Store. 

Teddy Charles Herrlein was born October 22, 1957 in Yankton, SD to Lloyd and Charlotte (Hocking) Herrlein.  Teddy had epilepsy which resulted in daily seizures.  The Yankton Community and EMS became an extended family rendering Teddy aid throughout his life.  He was a client of the Yankton Ability Building Services (ABS).  There they nurtured his creative soul and worked with him to develop his passion for photography and writing.  In 1981, Teddy contributed several photos to the publication “Ashes and Chuckles”.  He later authored a book of poetry “Quite Simple and Quite True”.  Teddy participated in the Special Olympics and loved collecting everything.  He was a Wheel of Fortune super fan.  He kept a daily diary of all the puzzle solutions.  He loved life and will be missed by family and friends.

Teddy is survived by his twin sister, Terri Herrlein of Anderson, SD; sisters, Corinne Herrlein of Irene, SD and Sandra Goodrich of Vermillion, SD and brother, Herman Herrlein of Volin, SD.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Charlotte Herrlein and brothers, Mickey and Joseph Herrlein.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to the Yankton ABS Client Activity Fund, 909 W 23rd St, Yankton, SD 57078
