Obituary of Sandra Lee Kreber
Sandra was born January 29, 1952 to Emil and Irene (Svanda) Herman of Tyndall, SD.
She attended Tyndall Elementary School and graduated from Tyndall High School in 1970. After graduation, she attended Nursing School in Mitchell, SD and received her LPN license in 1971.
She married Michael L. Kreber on March 29, 1974 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Tyndall, SD. To their union were born Angela (Angie), and Melinda (Mindy). Later, they divorced but stayed close friends.
During her career as an LPN, she cared for patients at the Yankton Medical Clinic working with Dr. Gilmore and Dr. Aanning; Avera Yankton Care Center; and Sacred Heart Monastery. Always putting her compassion for others and their care first, she exemplified the love Jesus taught. Later, she found her calling working alongside Janet Stark at Anna Lynne Claire decorating for weddings and events.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s activities, and selflessly giving of her time and talents. With her vocal talents, she worked with youth to start a Junior Choir and helped enhance the Christmas Pageant and Stations of the Cross at St. Leo’s Catholic Church. She had an extreme love for baking and cooking and always made sure everyone had enough to eat. She was there to help others and never wanted anything in return. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, tea-rings, and salsa.
Thankful for having shared her life are her daughters Angela (Lee) Sayler of Scotland, SD; Melinda (Roger) Schweitzer of Yankton, SD; five grandchildren: Audrey Sayler, Landon Sayler, Logan Sayler, Bennett Schweitzer, and Breyer Schweitzer; her brother Ken (Gail) Herman of Woodland Park, CO; sister Lori (Jim) Karolevitz of Tabor, SD; and special friends Karen (Les) Kalda, Pat (Gary) Mount, and Mike Kreber.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Irene Herman and several aunts and uncles.
