Larry was born May 31, 1937 to James and Anna (Hnilo) Carda of Tabor, SD. He graduated from Tabor High School in 1945. He served his country in the Army National Guard from 1955 to 1963. He married Darlene Kozak on July 2, 1958. To this union, 4 daughters were born.
