Joshua Paul Scott, age 30, of Yankton, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Memorial services will be 4:00 PM, Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Yankton, with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting with service details.
Joshua was born April 18, 1983 in Huntington Park, CA to Gregory MacQuithy and Karen Scott. Joshua grew up in Bell Gardens and Rosamond, CA. He went to Rosamond Elemetary and Rosamond High School. He worked in the oil fields in Bakersfield. His son, Ayden was born on July 10, 2009 in Bakersfield, CA. In January, 2013 Joshua came to Paris, IL to be with family before moving to Yankton, SD. Joshua went to work at SAPA in Yankton, SD.
He is survived by his mother of Mojave, CA and father of Paris, IL; grandmother, Blanch of Glendale, CA; aunts, Paula of Yankton, SD, and Norma of Paris, IL; uncles, Jeff of Paris IL, Mike (Jennie) of Paris, IL; many cousins of Yankton, SD and Paris, IL, eight sisters: Paula, Sharon, Cheryl, Ambrosha, Chassidy, Bobbysue, Kimberly, and Ruth; one brother, Matthew; and his son, Ayden of Bakersfield, CA.
