Joy Elaine Elle, age 75 of Yankton died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton. Memorial Service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton with Rev. Mark Lichter officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Aberdeen, SD. Visitations will begin 6:00 PM, Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a 7:00 PM rosary followed by a 7:30 PM Scripture service. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the services at the funeral chapel. Joy Elaine Elle was born December 5, 1938 to Emil and Freda (Dinger) Tutsch in Amherst, SD. She graduated from Hecla High School. Joy was united in marriage to Stanley Elle on November 4th, 1961. They lived in Aberdeen, SD and in 1968, they moved to Yankton, where Stanley was a radio broadcaster for WNAX. Joy stayed home and tended to her seven children until 1983. Then she went to work as a CNA at Yankton Care Center and Sister James Nursing Home. This was a job she truly loved up until the day she retired. Joy will always be remembered for her hard work and love for her family. She truly was a rock and never put her worries or aches and pains first. She was always willing to put her loved ones first. She loved to watch Dancing with the Stars and had a great passion for reading. Survivors include her children: Laurie Stephenson (Fiancée, John Stanford II) of Sioux Falls, SD; Stephen (Kim) Elle of Evans, Georgia; David (Fiancée, Andrea Murphy) of Omaha, Nebraska; Brian Elle, Brad (Jane) Elle; Dana Petersen, and Linda Aldridge (Fiancée, Rob Cope), all of Yankton, SD; sisters: Jan (Jerry) Stoffers of Hollister, California and Jean Kelley of Burien, Washington; 23 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, her parents, two granddaughters, Laura Boutchee and Marissa Aldridge, brother, Roy Tutsch, and sister, Joan Knight and two infant sisters.
