
Obituary of Mark Plambeck
Mark Alan Plambeck of Yankton, SD, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday, April 16th surrounded by his family and loved ones. Per Marks wishes the celebration of life will be a private family gathering at his home.
Mark was born April 30, 1958, in Omaha, NE. He graduated from Bancroft High School in 1976. He attended Northeast Community College and then farmed with family for twenty-two years in the Lyons, NE area. After leaving the farm, he started a series of successful businesses in the transportation industry where he continued working until he became ill.
As a youth, Mark loved and excelled at all sports, especially baseball, He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping on the farm where he grew up near Bancroft. Mark had a passion for coaching, he coached basketball, baseball, taught golf, and anything to help the kids and grandkids in his life. He loved supporting the Northeast Community College baseball team. He was an avid fisherman and spent years fishing at lakes in South Dakota and in the Florida Keys. He and his wife Alicia loved inviting guests to their Florida home where he could take them fishing for Mahi in the Keys.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Myron. He is survived by his wife Alicia, mother Marjorie, brothers Steve (Lydia), Maury (Sam), children Jamie, Michael (Marissa), stepchildren Jessica, Justin, Jared, Heath (Hanna), as well as thirteen grandchildren.
