Obituary of Barb Wiebelhaus
Barbara (Barb) Jean Wiebelhaus, age 79 of Fordyce, Nebraska died on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial Mass will be 11:30 AM, Tuesday, July 25, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordyce, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Barb was born on January 11, 1944, in Denver, Colorado to Don and Loretta (Becker) Dorsey. She grew up in Denver and graduated from South High School. Barb met Dean (Dick) Wiebelhaus when they were children while she would visit her grandmother during the summers in Fordyce. Barb and Dick were married on April 22, 1964, and they lived in Fordyce, Nebraska where they owned and operated Wiebelhaus Service for 47 years.
Barb loved to read, play cards, and spend time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting and camping and was a good cook. She liked plants and gardening. She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.
Barb is survived by her husband and three children: Jeff (Darlene) Wiebelhaus of Elkhorn, NE, Sherry (Chris) Scott of Omaha, NE, and Nancy Wiebelhaus and husband David Sullivan of Lincoln, NE; her grandchildren Jenna Wiebelhaus and Jack Price; one brother, Dean Dorsey of Denver, CO; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Paul Wiebelhaus.
Barb was a loving mother and wife and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
