Della was the sunshine I needed when I visited Al at Sister James. I looked forward to seeing her smile. COVID distorted time and visits but my fond memories of Della are happy ones. Stay strong family, she is resting in God's house now.

Dear Family. So many memories of Della. First time I met her was when Jennifer was a third grader at Sacred Heart School< and when I watched the video I could a lot of young Jennifer in her mother. Della always had a sweet smile for everyone she met all those years I saw her giving out free samples at Hy Vee. She live a long life and I am sure gave many serious memories for all of you to share and remember. she will be missed but never forgotten. You have my deepest sympathy. I will remember all of you in my prayers.

We are so sorry for your loss. I have loved Della since 1977. She was the most wonderful, beautiful person I have ever known. Her smile is infectious, her laugh a delight, her kindness overwhelming. This beautiful woman is now reunited with her equally loved husband now & that gives me peace. Please know that you all be in our thoughts & prayers as God helps you through this time. Most of all, THANK YOU for sharing your amazing mother with us. Della was my first cousin (Julia Zavadil was my mother). I remember visiting Della. She was always so glad to see us and always had something for us to eat and drink. Delia and her daughter, made frequent visit to my mother when she was in the nursing home. Without those visits, she would have been very lonely. I am very grateful for their kindness.
When Della's husband, Johnny, came home after WW II, my Dad hired him to paint a new corn crib. I remember him teaching me how whistle.
Will think of you as you grieve the lose of a wonderful mother, grandmother, etc.

Will really miss this lovely lady. Always thougt of her as my mom#2. She babysat me for many years so that was like home to me and her and Johnny we my second parents. The girls were like my sisiters. I remember Della was so great at baking home made bread and rolls. Always seemed like a big pan raising dough in the kitchen. She always had a smile on her face even when she was yelling at us girls. Very special lady has her wings now. condolences go out to all her family. Love you all and will really miss her. She even remembered me when I visited her last year at the home.
