Obituary of Michael John Sykora

Michael was born November 25, 1961 in Yankton, South Dakota to Ralph Charles and Lavonne Elizabeth (Eggerling) Sykora.  He was raised on the family farm and first attended Highland Country School until its closure, after which he attended Public School in Springfield, South Dakota where he graduated high school in 1980.  Michael then attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where he was enrolled in studies to become a math teacher and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.  He was involved in the food and hospitality industry for most of his adult life and had a lifelong love of cars and enjoyed working on them. 

Michael is survived by a sister, Kathryn (Todd) Walter; nephew, Andrew Walters; nieces, Brianna Walters (Joe Johnson), Caitlin (Darrin) Bergers; grandniece, Willa; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and infant sister, Lori.

Visitation and Memorial Service - Omaha

Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, NE. There will be one hour of visitation from 2 to 3:00 p.m.
