Vi,
I'm so sorry for your loss. We were out in Maryland visiting our daughter and family and were unable to attend Dr. Ranney's funeral. Our son informed us of his passing away.
What a wonderful, kind and brilliant man. He did so many good things in his life and accomplished so much. I never worked for him at the clinic. It was an honor to work in the same facility.
God Bless you and may all those wonderful memories give you some comfort.

My name is Connie Reifenrath Ballard and I am the daughter of Norbert & Viola Reifenrath from Crofton, NE. It is with gratefulness and pride to say that Dr. Rannny saved my life as well as my mother's in October 1948. While the doctor was visiting Sacred Heart to decide on whether to take up practice there Viola was admitted to OB and was in pre-mature labor. Dr. Ranny performed the first caesarean section, stabilized my mom, and I was born weighing about 2 lbs. My mom adored this dear fine doctor and never forgot him! Thank you. Our Deepest Sympathy to all the family and to all those patients he helped. I met him briefly after his book was released. It was a true honor! He surely has earned his place in heaven!

We wish to express our sincere condolences to the family friends and wife Vi Ranney at this very sad time.
Dr. Brooks Ranney was a wonderful man whom I got to know well during the time he offered his very capable hand in tour guiding for my company, Rupiper Tours. I had the privilege of traveling with him on our very first Lewis and Clark expedition from St. Louis to Astoria, OR. At this time he was already a very senior gentleman but did a superb job as he did on all tours. We miss him for all he has done for us. Truly a role model for all men. May he find eternal happiness.

Dear Vi, Family and Friends, Carol and I send our condolences to you at this sad time of Dr. Brooks passing. We have had the greatest admiration for Dr. Brooks Ranney. His life and his philosophy of "doing everything one can, instead of just getting along " is inspirational. He was truly an accomplished and compassionate man. We are very sorry for your loss and send our deepest sympathies.

Dr. Brooks Ranney was truly an amazing man and a soft spoken giant among men. I first got to know him through Dr. William Kettel, while I was at the University of Iowa Hospitals. And then later, when the Central Association of OG - GYN was holding a meeting in Colorado, and I believe he was then President of CAOG. Our friendship continued for many years after that with our service with the American College of OB & GYNs. Brooks was well known as a keen and intellectual scholar as well as a kind and pragmatic man. He will be missed by alll; friends, colleagues and patients.
