Theresa was born March 13, 1916 to Frank and Anna (Hobelheinrich) Peitz at Beaver Creek, Nebraska. She was the youngest of eight children and grew up on the family farm. After graduation from high school she taught elementary school for a short time until her adventurous spirit called her and her sister Hilda to California. There she worked as a waitress and eventually owned her own coffee shop in San Francisco. Theresa developed an interest in real estate over her decades in California and ultimately became a partner in owning and managing a twenty one unit apartment complex overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and Marina in San Francisco. During the early 1970's Theresa decided to return to her Midwestern roots to care for her two aging sisters. She was their generous caregiver until their deaths. Theresa was an active member of the Catholic community in Yankton and a member of the Catholic Daughters before becoming a resident of Avera Sister James Care Center. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers Frank, Joe, Jack, and Ferdinand (F.R.), and her three sisters Dora Kleinschmit, Rose Schorn, and Hilda Kohles. Theresa is survived by a multitude of loving nephews, nieces, and their families.
