Obituary of Arthur D. Peitz

            Art was born October 5, 1927 in Fordyce, NE to Frank and Mary (Loecker) Peitz.  Art grew up working on the family farm at Beaver Creek, NE.  He graduated from Yankton High School in 1946.  Art married Dolores Schneider at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton, SD on May 26, 1952.  Art was a route salesman for Binder Brothers Bottling Company.  He owned and operated Art’s Superior 400 Service Station and worked in maintenance at Mt. Marty College and Sacred Heart Monastery until his retirement.  Art was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Benedict Catholic Church.  Art enjoyed working in his yard, raising flowers, feeding birds and other hobbies. 

            Art is survived by his wife, Dolores; six children:  Douglas (Deb) of Madison, WI, Gregory (Ruth) of Chico, CA, Debbie (Ken) Gerken of Thousand Oaks, CA, Donna (Chuck) Riser of Chandler, AZ, Gary of Sandpoint, ID and David (Candyce) of Wakefield, NE; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

            Art was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne; his parents, Frank and Mary Peitz and brothers, Dennis and Gerald.
